19 jolly things for your April!

jolly things for your April
Should I? Should I mention that we are heading into April like a spaceship? I mean… whaaaaat?

But… the good thing is… we are heading into Spring as well. The days are longer, the birds are chirping (in front of my bedroom every morning) and we can go to the park after school or just have fika (yes we keep that Swedish thing for afternoon snacks going) in our garden. Love it!

And I love all these sweet things I gathered over the last weeks. For mums, for the home, little gifts, great articles and and and…

vanessa bruno raffa bag silk drss
My first Vanessa Bruno bag, I bought it approx. 20 years ago. The one with the sequins. You probably know (latest when you visited Paris where every women has at least one). The smallest version, in black so it worked with everything. Since then my collection grew step by step. And I still think it is one of the best bags around. The raphia version is super nice too. Summer, chic, seqins… Y E S! Together with that gorgeous silk dress or with your favourite pair of jeans… it works with everything. On the picture you can see it with khaki sequins (but there is gold and white two). In either Large* or Medium*.

Enjoy your weekend and see you back on Monday!

World maps for the kids room

World maps for the kids room

After that lovely kids room in Gothenburg I shared on Tuesday, I had to dig up this article from 2015. A selection of some lovely world maps for the kids room.

As an international family and the kids growing up with multiple languages, lots of traveling and also moving around we often have a look at the world map and check where we are, the rest of our family is and also where we have been to already…

The world with all its different cultures is just fascinating and with these fun maps you can bring it a little closer.

But lots has happened since then, so a little ‘face lift’ can’t hurt. Updating the sources, links and also adding two or three new favourites…

Find a mix of posters, prints, wall stickers or old school charts. Something for every taste and every room:

Cosy and charming family apartment in Gothenburg

Cosy and charming family apartment in Gothenburg

Majorna is the new cultural hot spot in Gothenburg, Sweden. Once a classic workers’ distric, you can now find hip restaurants, bars and little shops aplenty.

And the neighbourhood derives much of its character from the typical landshövdingehus – Gothenburg’s typical houses that consist of one brick and two wooden storeys. A building type unique to the Swedish city of Gothenburg.

For Johanna and Mattias, owner of today’s apartment, it was a no-brainer on where to find an apartment in the city. Majorna of course! It is a vibrant area with a relaxed vibe and it is also close to both the sea and the city center.

And once moved in, photographer and stylist Johanna Hagbard (you absolutely need to follow her on Instagram for daily inspiration!) turned the home into a happy and cosy family haven. Find natural materials, playful details mixing with flea market finds and design classics:

Exploring your creativity is easy in this kids room. And I am sure little Ruben is having lots of fun in here.

The cool world map is from here and if you never got around painting a wall with chalk paint, this may be your best inspiration. Add some gym rings for extra fun and keep the rest simple.

Backpack from Fjallraven*.

There is a little balcony too. Growing some tomatoes, flowers and herbs. The light, something so prominent in Scandinavian homes, is phenomenal and an unmissable accessory.

And you can clearly see the love of details and special things a stylist has in its blood. Have a look at the pictures again and discover the cute kitchen utensils on the wall, the pretty coffee table books or the colours of the plants.

Tack!

Would you like another dose of Scandi interior delight? How about this small yet cosy Stockholm flat or this magnificient kids room?

Charming and timeless nursery homeware and children’s clothing

Bonne Mere - timeless nursery homeware and clothing
Good Morning and hello new week. We are starting with sunshine and a birthday and I hope your Monday means a good beginning too…

And for some extra sunshine I am taking you to Australia today. Discovering the poetic universe of Bonne Mere (French for ‘Good Mother’).

Nicole Mair, based in Sydney, made the very first scalloped playmat when her daughter Chloe was born in 2009. 5 years later it became the signature quilt design for her bedding collection. Because in 2014 she decided to do something for herself and to be able to spend more time with her daughter. Her passion about beautiful nursery homewares and dresses made her launch Bonne Mère.

A charming, little brand that offers timeless handcrafted heirloom nursery homewares, bed linen as well as adorable clothes for babies and children.

Today you can find the quilts in various sizes (from baby to king!) and a brand that embraces fun, love, beauty and grace in all their products.

Personally I am very fond of details (as you know) and I love to see the little glamour, sparkle and romance in Nicole’s designs. A little magic that goes a long way! Look at those lovely buntings for example, adorned with some glitter and stars. What is not to love?

And the little clothes are no less whimsical. The most romantic night gowns, accessories and pretty dresses. Sequins, stardust, eyelet embroidery or lace. For sweet dreams!

Have a lovely week everyone and here is some more heirloom romance from Australia.

Pops of colours for nununu this season

nununu ss 2019

Deep Purple is the colour of the year. At least for Israel’s kids fashion guru nununu. Adding a special colour to their collections for each season we are loving this beautiful shade of purple.

However, the alternative brand that is most famous for its blacks and greys decided to add a lot more pops of colours into their Spring/ Summer collection. And it is good!

Bright reds and pinks, green and blue. Mixed together! And, just quickly back to the deep purple – I think it is a wonderful gender neutral colour. Check this skull t shirt* for example and you know what I mean.

And to top it all off, they changed their lookbook style too. And it is a refreshing and welcome change…
Personally I think this highlights the clothes even more and gives it more movement and life. And lets the colours pop.

Effortlessly stylish clothes that are refreshing among all the vibrant hues and prints. This is kids fashion from Israel and since our stay in this fantastic country this winter I am even a little bit more in love. My travel report is coming very soon (I know some of you are waiting for it!).

Good selection in the UK via AlexandAlexa*. (You can find some pieces from their amazing collab with Tutu du Monde here as well)

By the way, my eldest has this pyjama set* and it is so comfy! She adores it!
