Embroidery hoop art for the children’s room

Paul & Paula: The bestembroidery hoops for the children's room

I have a new thing. Embroidery hoop art.

You probably know that I love embroidery in any form. And changing from the traditional prints and posters, these hoops are a lovely addition to decorate walls. Actually, I think, these look best when mixed with some of those prints and posters. Because the mix of modern and heirloom is still the best.

And do you know why I love those hoops?

There is something poetic about them. Something delicate and elegant. You can buy a lot of patterns and get creative. Which is wonderful in our quick world. And often the projects are not huge and rather easy even for beginners. (and they look very sophisticated!) A project that reminds you to slow down and that will decorate your little ones room. Love it!

Therefore, I gathered a few of my favourite embroidery hoop artists. Some are ready to be hung, some need to be stitched. You decide:

Paul & Paula: The bestembroidery hoops for the children's room

1. Simple yet stunning butterfly embroidery hoop.

2. French Mango. Colourful and fun embroidery art from a French mum living in Chicago.

3. Embroidery kits with little animal friends. Simple and sweet.

4. L O V E embroidery kit that includes absolutely everything to make this yourself.

Paul & Paula: The bestembroidery hoops for the children's room

1. Marta Insa from Aro designs and embroiders every hoop herself. I love the sweet faces. A beautiful addition to any children’s room.

2. Hand embroidery designs that are delightful and so pretty. I am sure you will embroider those with a big smile because they just make happy faces.

3. A fox for the woodland nursery!

4. Very sweet floral face pdf pattern that even beginners can master.

Paul & Paula: The bestembroidery hoops for the children's room

1. Sleeping foxes. Calm, sweet and a very easy embroidery that is great for beginners. It comes as a kit that includes all tools.

2. A good fairytale needs a stunning mushroom. Perfect for all the nature inspired nurseries and kids rooms.

3. Hand embroidered magnificent swallow that is ready to decorate your wall.

4. Such a stunning pattern. It is a pdf that you can download immediately and start your work. This Floral Field would look amazing in any room.

And if you love these hoops, you will love Momo und Carla too.

8 simple and festive hairstyles for children

8 simple and festive hairstyles for children
For some reason I thought about hair when I was looking into the article for today. Since the kids wear uniforms to school, even Leonor has to tie her hair back. And finally her big sister is allowed to help (she was asking her all the time to braid or just do her hair but only on very rare occasions she got a yes!)!

So, since it is only 2 weeks (!!!) until Christmas, I thought that some simple and festive hairstyles for children ideas would be really good!

I hope you like the idea…

Because you probably got a nice dress already, the kids are excited anyway and having a lovely hair-do will just underline the whole festive spirit.

Here are some ideas, because often it is all we need. Some inspiration. Some ideas… a photo, and there we go:

Braids, braids, braids… decorated with a beautiful floral headband (this one is extremly lovely too).  And for the braids, just follow your kids’ wishes!

More simple as well as festive hairstyles for children:

A fishtail is always beautiful, add a bit more volume and start braiding from one side or go over to the other. Mid-length hair looks festive with a crown braid.

And? These are simple ideas that you can pimp with some accessories. Add some texture, crowns look very festive and maybe add a little sparkle from mum’s magic hair box.

We will definitely do a little hair session in our house. Little Josephine likes to get her hair done (by her big sister) as well and we will find some sparkling clips for her (still) baby hair.

Maybe I will also sit for a session. I admit, I love to get my hair brushed, it really relaxes me… and I let it grow at the moment. Oh… two more weeks. Unbelievable!

Fun and enchanting craft kits for teenagers

djeco7

My 11 year old loves crafting! She loves to make, cut, sew, glue, design, colour or draw. And even so she is big enough now to do most by herself, I do enjoy helping her here and there. And I love that she makes little hand made gifts for her siblings birthdays or for Christmas.

Every project is teaching her some new skills or makes her improve the one’s already learned.

So when we received a box of fun creative kits for tweens and teens from French brand Djeco I had one happy camper at home. Carefully checking out each kit and discovering her new creative sessions.

What did we get?

We got a cute gift wrapping kit that includes all kinds of little bits and bobs for beautiful packages and decoration. She made some jewelry, got a sewing kit that she is using at the moment to make little bunnies for her sisters for Christmas.
And more… let’s have a look at the pictures:

She made garlands, really lovely garlands and a few already found a spot in her new room as well.

And next to the great projects, I personally love the design of all Djeco products. The boxes are always so pretty and the end results really can be put up and be enjoyed by the whole family.

Sensitive choices of colours, papers and prints. Delicate details that are not too tricky to assemble and always some surprising and new ideas…

Fun and enchanting craft kits for teenagers

Birdkids have one of the biggest online selections with lots of craft kits and more in stock!

Psssst… these kits are great gifts!

We received the craft kits as samples in order to write this review. Djeco is a brand we have in our house for a long time and that we truly like.

Colourful chalkboard walls

Colourful chalkboard walls
We all love to create a fun and interesting home for our families. Cosy, stylish and full of life. If we can add some creative aspects – perfect!

An easy option is the famous chalkboard wall. I showed you some inspiring spaces already and I still think that this one of the best solutions. And you know what, the whole chalkboard wall thing just got better. Like a million times better.
Why?

Because Farrow & Ball is now in the game too. On the top of the game actually because now you can get chalkboard paints in all colours of the rainbow. The Farrow & ball rainbow if you know what I mean. Because they do have the best colours. No question!

Done with the black and ready for some cool colours. Especially with Spring just ahead of us, this is so good!

For the occasion I found some more inspiring spaces for you:

Home in your home. Maybe your next DIY project? Here you can find some really great colours for this project. Love the blue tones…

White? Yes, why not. Surprising, fun and you keep the light in your house. There are lots of shades of white to choose from…

Green is another classic, but what about a lighter shade?

Or something more yellow? Farrow & Ball has a shade called India Yellow for example.

Or something bright and happy like violet?

Farrow & Ball is an English brand known for a rich colour range. The chalkboard paints are available in matte and semi-matte. Each of these paint types is suitable for your walls or ceilings.

Yes, I am really excited about this. It also means that chalkboard walls do not necessarily have to look like a classroom and you can integrate them now in any corner of your beautiful home.

The biggest issue might be – which colour to choose?!
