A Modern Venice Beach Family Abode

A Modern Venice Beach Family Abode
Whilst I was browsing through the website of Marysia yesterday to write my article about her gorgeous kids swimwear line, I stumbled upon her home too.
Situated in Venice Beach, Los Angeles it is a gorgeous light filled, cosy and modern family home. California style!

This family home combines contemporary details with the laid back beach feeling on California. I am a big Cali fan and would move in here instantly.

The family of four moved from the East Coast (NYC) to the West to obtain a more healthy and relaxed lifestyle. The sleek David Hertz-designed house is entirely decorated with finds from local designers and stores.

Lets have a look:

Whimsical details throughout the kid’s bedrooms and play area. Some colourful art, creative space and a warm, laid-back, and cosy yet modern feel.

The table and stools, an old favourite of mine as well, are from Krethaus.

You love the boho rattan beds? Bonton has something very similar.

And you can find pretty baskets all over the house. Still the perfect way to organise a family home in style!

Cool mobile that is probably made out of finds from the beach. We have one from our road trip as well… it just needs to be finished. Ahhh… this is my inspiration to get on it before another year passes.

What does Marysia love about their new hood?
‘We live in Venice, CA right off Abbott Kinney blvd. and steps away from the beach. The girls love Cha Cha Chicken, so we always go there as a family. Nathaniel and I love Gjelina in Venice, not just because it’s so close to home and work. We enjoy walking to Clover Park in Santa Monica or we go to the beach either near home or in Malibu. Venice Beach is a walk-able community. We can take our daughters to school, work across the street and shop and eat within a close walk. ‘

The home is just steps from the beach and probably the perfect spot for a swimwear designer. The office studio is situated here too and imagine you need a little fresh air. Just have a little walk by the beach… Swoon!

Tomorrow I am off to Florence for a new round of Pitti Bimbo. Cannot wait to catch up with everyone and discovering the new collections.
