Pitti Bimbo – 22 – 24. June 2017

pitti bimbo

Today in one month Pitti Bimbo will open it’s doors again. I had such a good time and show in January that I am very much looking forward to this edition. Of course I am always curious to see the new collections, run into friends and catch up with people from the industry, another lovely part is: Florence. Florence in June!

I cannot wait and really hope to see some of you at Pitti Bimbo next month.

Let’s have a look what will await us at the Fortezza da Basso and where you will see me for sure. One thing I really enjoyed at Pitti is that instead of one big hall you have several smaller {and not so small} buildings that are dedicated to different themes.

velveteen
The Apartment is my favorite hall. As the name suggests you will find apartments. Each of them belongs to a designer who decorated it according to their collection and style. It is super inspiring and has a very ’boutique’ kinda feeling. Find brands like The Small Gatsby, Velveteen {image above}, Raspberry Plum and more here.

Kokori Kids
THE NEST is back. Putting the spotlight on small independent brands from around the world.
An exclusive selection of small independent brands, selected in collaboration with the Berlin-based concept lab Little Pop Up, will be presented. As you know me, I am very happy to see this and happy to see that Pitti Bimbo supports small and new brands. Find Kokori {image above}, Cherry Papaya, Mimi & Lula, Poupee Kids, Sommer + Kinder and many more on the Lower Level of the Main Pavilion.

lucky boy sunday
Also located on the Lower Level of the Main Pavilion, is the FANCY ROOM section. Another spot for smaller brands but with a focus on accessories, interior and toys. Perfect for concept stores and with brands such as Noodoll, Forivor, LuckyBoySunday {image above} and many more…

More halls: Sport Generation for everything from the sporty and active wear field. One part of the Main Pavilion is dedicated to sustainable fashion and called Ecoethic. Junior and Teen clothing at Superstreet – as the name suggests you can find lots of street wear style brands here. Find all info about the different sections here.

Make sure to have a look at the Events Calendar and plan your trip. Pitti Bimbo is famous for its shows and special events and it would be a shame if you miss them…

See you next month in Florence!

Pitti Bimbo A/W 2017 {highlights part two}

kalinka kids

After the catwalk edition and the first part of my personal highlights – here are my last bits from Pitti Bimbo.

On the first day I managed to walk 10km {I had a look on my phone yesterday evening}. I was exhausted at the end of the day. Positively exhausted – full of nice things I saw, lovely people I chatted too, good food I had and walking around a fortress to see the best of kids fashion is really very charming!

Let’s see what our kids will be wearing for A/W 2017:

Pitti Bimbo A/W 2017 {catwalk impressions}

pero
If you follow my Instagram you noticed that I was in Florence last week.

Paul & Paula attended Pitti Bimbo.

We had a splendid time, met many creative people, had great chats and deep conversations with brands, magazines & shop owners. We are back with a suitcase full of inspiration and before we are heading to the next fair I want to share some of it with you here.

The fair is a true event, a little overwhelming even in the beginning. You feel the passion for kids fashion everywhere. People are excited and you get absorbed by the atmosphere.

It was so good to meet old and new faces {always my favourite part}, discover new brands and the new collections of old favourites. This industry is something special – kind and fun people around you, full of creativity and power!

Let’s start with some images from the fashion shows and watch out for more posts with my finds, favourites and and and…

Poetic, retro & eccentric children’s fashion from London

Raspberry Plum
London based children’s fashion label RaspberryPlum showed an exceptional collection this June in Pitti. I teased you a bit in my recap and, as promised, will show you more today. And I hope you will be as delighted as I am!

Aleksandra and her love for the 1930’s to 1950’s can be seen throughout the collection. Showing pieces packed with personality and the best prints. I am particularly loving the panda prints. It is all rather unique, playful, yet luxurious, and colourful.

Happy stripes, a bit of lace, lots of tulle, and the coolest accessories. I am very fond of great accessories and was happy to see some cool berets, summer hats, and hair pieces. They just make an outfit and add a whole lot of fun.

And in case you wonder when I say tulle, lace and luxury, everything is easy to look after. Because a great deal of attention has been placed on detail, quality, and finish. Further, the collection is ethically manufactured in Serbia, Aleksandra’s birth country. She left for London when she was 12 but always likes to include her roots in her work. To support and to show her love.

Let us have a look at the collection for Spring/ Summer 2023:

So, what do you think? Have you spotted some favourites already?

I am between the panda swimsuit and the patch dress. Still time to decide until next summer…
