Insider: Maternity clothes that every future mum will adore!

storq maternity

Hello new week. And hello topic that I have not covered for ages. Maternity clothes! Sometimes we loose sight of things that are not prominent in our own lives anymore… but of course I am aware that some of my readers may add a baby to their family or are in the exciting stage of becoming a mum (parents) for the very first time.

And since I have been there four times, I think I have some things to share when it comes to maternity wear.

During the first weeks and months of your pregnancy you may be able to wear your ‘normal’ clothes and depending on your body, you may feel pretty normal in terms of shape too.

But once it is all about the belly growing and going down the ‘last weeks’ lane… I can tell you, that all you want is being comfortable. Comfortable without sporting the pyjama look! And you want to feel like yourself, because your body is changing, your belly is big but you really like to remember that you are still you! And not just a belly!

And there is one brand that ticks a lot of boxes for me: Storq!

Their collection is full of refined essentials, clothes that fit and make you feel put together. Everything is
uber-comfortable and made from fabrics that are soft and breathable using eco-friendly or natural fibers.

Plus: The brand makes nursing clothes too and some pieces do work for both, during pregnancy and after!

My favourite is the Basic Bundle. You may find the price tag a bit steep, but trust me – great basics go a long way. And you will probably live in this and just clap yourself that you went through and bought this!

Short: Stylish essentials for maternity, nursing, and parenthood. Feel like yourself again, only more comfortable.

Storq’s story: Two friends found themselves surrounded by mamas-to-be with nothing they loved to wear. The average piece of maternity wear looked nothing like the ‘regular clothes’ their friends owned.
Therefore they decided to create a few key pieces that could become something of a maternity uniform. Things you could wear year-round, things you’d always feel comfortable in and with an effortless silhouette.

Because what you wear is not only about how you look, but also how you feel.

Storq is an American company, however they offer international shipping!

The simple Scandinavian design is perfect for design conscious families because it is not overwhelming. You can easily add toys and personal belongings without having a space that looks overloaded.

I really like this concept of subtle colors, minimalist furniture and accessories that can be used in many different ways.

‘Letting children’s imagination influence the home is something we want to encourage. The family, the children and home is of great importance to us, and this influences and shapes the way we work.’

Fridge-freezer-wooden toys

OMG! A wooden fridge*! How cool is that? (the kitchen is pretty cool too…)

Allover I just love wooden toys. And when they are stylish, come in great colours (yes, you can have wooden toys that are not just bland like this cool ABC puzzle* !) then I just love them even more…

A charming family apartment in Paris

family apartment in Paris

We are back. After a little hick up yesterday I am back and I am so excited to share this charming family apartment in Paris with you.

Patrice, owner of the shoe brand Feiyue, and Laetitia’s, who is a clothing designer, beautiful old apartment hides behind an anonymous facade in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. An area I have lived during some of my Paris years too!

Patrice is a trained architect and the couple met in China for the first time. They were both on a business trip. Now they have their base in Paris and their little son Yume joined the family since then as well.

The couple opened up the hallway to create a large modern family kitchen. Totally understandable and so useful, especially for a family. I love kitchens and it is always a priority when house hunting, because there needs to be enough space for everyone and lots of cooking, activities and entertaining!

And the mix of modern and the traditional Parisian flair is lovely with these magnificent old fireplaces, large beautiful windows, and lovely old wooden floors. See for yourself:

Such a cosy spot inside that cool tipi… and I love to see a bit of Amsterdam in Paris…

Things: Tipi*, rug*, Amsterdam house wardrobe!

Yume owns a couple of super-cool vehicles. Having this ‘mattress haven’ adds a lot of calm to the room! And they become practical when it is sleepover time too.

Things: Yellow chair*, skateboard* and a selection of mattresses*.

And I love those inserted windows that you can find in a lot of places in Paris. They let in so much light that it is even worth to have a little less privacy in your bathroom (I am sure there is a little toilet for guests somewhere in the apartment too).

Gorgeous place and I will leave you with it for today. Because next week I will be off for my first trade show of the season and before that we have a busy weekend to squeeze in including a birthday party!

See you tomorrow!

Lovely wood pegboards for children’s rooms

wood pegboards for children's rooms

Hello! We are starting the week with something cute. Something to give your little one’s room (or your home office, or kitchen or…) a little special detail. Wood pegboards for children’s rooms!

Because these wood pegboards are really cool, practical and fit in everywhere with their natural wood. And you can choose from simple shapes like squares or circles as well as clouds, stars and even dinosaurs! Truly something for everyone and every corner in the house…

Little Anana* was founded by Astrid and Ivan and everything is handmade in the South of France, in Biarritz to be precise.

What is a pegboard?

A Pegboard is a, usually, wooden board perforated with a grid or pattern of holes. Into which hooks or pegs can be fitted for the storage or display of articles like tools and toys. See it like a cute shelf that you can personalise and that has hooks too.

And they are even better when they come in fun shapes! Really, these are a no-brainer because they are so practical to hold all the little things that are usually flying around. So handy…

The only question here is – which one? I must say that I do have a thing for that bunny*, the monstera* is great too and I think teens would really like it as well.

For me, I am very tempted with that simple yet chic circle pegboard* for my little home office.
