Little Creative Factory store in Barcelona

little creative factory shop
At the end of January I went on a quick trip to Barcelona. Lucky me was invited to attend the Little Creative Factory fashion show for their A/W collection called ‘Horizons’.

And since the brand has a store in the city too, I went to have a look and took some pictures for you. Situated right in the heart of Barcelona, in the fashionable and artistic quarter El Born.

It is also always fascinating to see Cristina, the founder. A dynamic woman guided by her dreams and who is so very passionate about this adventure called Little Creative Factory.

Some pieces of the Spring/Summer collection ‘Dancers’ were already in store. Adorned with some well worn ballet shoes. A very poetic space!

If you happen to be in Barcelona, please do visit the store.

Bonton Maison

Bonton Maison
It is Tuesday and that means that I should share some inspiring interiors with you here today. I am cheating a little but I am sure you will forgive me because this is just as good.

And it is interior too. For kids. From the famous French brand Bonton. Bonton launched it’s own home line of furniture, decorative objects, stationary and household linens at the end of last year.

Bonton Maison with furniture and decorative details for the smallest ones. Vintage industrial looks, furniture in pastel tones, flower-themed bed linens, toy chests, chairs, lamps and lights and much more will brighten your home with the new line. The brand also partnered with the French artists Zoe Rumeau and Apolline for exclusive creations and prints.

This is perfect for everyone who does not have time to search for the perfect vintage detail or piece of furniture!

There are already several collections made of rattan and natural oak, metallic notes for a retro-chic side, a pop and coloured line, another handcrafted in India, another one with Scandinavian accents.

The colour palette is stunning as usual. If you are a fan of the clothing line then I am sure you will love this just as much.

House of Jamie S/S 2018

House of Jamie S/S 2018
Oh it was so nice to catch up with Barbara during Playtime Paris. Seeing the new A/W 2018/19 collection and how the label grew up a little with a new logo. No more bow (did you notice?)! The bow is not gone for good but after 5 years of being ‘the brand with bow’ it was time for a little less cute approach.

But before we talk Autumn and Winter I absolutely need to show you the new Spring/ Summer collection. One season after the other right.

The new collection just launched this morning and you will see something very new – the leopard print. Caramel leopard is the exact name. The all time favorite print of founder Barbara is finally part of the apparel collection.

With six brand new sophisticated designs and the addition of the popular color Powder Pink, House of Jamie is ready for a summer of endless fun!

Next to the introduction of the Caramel Leopard print and the colour Powder Pink, the label introduces six new playful designs. A comfy jumpsuit, the crossover pants and the Batwing Tee with oversized short sleeves for example.

Comfy unisex essentials for the very little and not so little ones (0-8 years). Perfect to mix & match.

For the girls the label brings three new designs; the smocked skater skirt, the Maxi Dress and the Turban Headband. Absolute must haves for this summer!

My favourite is the oversized summer dress (I just love the shape) in the new leopard print.

House of Jamie is an Amsterdam based label created by Barbara Gouka offering playful baby and kids essentials and a home collection. It is the result of Barbara’s desire for stylish nursery essentials for her own children, Jamie and Teddie. The label offers timeless year-round collections, with new colors and designs added every season.

Paulinka Kids

Paulinka Kids
Paŭlinka is a collection of high quality children’s clothing designed in California and handcrafted in Belarus at a small family studio. A mother & daughter duo creating beautiful garments even so they are separated by many miles.

Using carefully selected natural materials, Paŭlinka creates children’s clothing that captures the beautiful magic of childhood.

Eugenia moved to the US in 2011.

‘It was difficult time for me, everything was so different and I was missing my family and friends. Then we had our first baby girl. She was so beautiful, like a tiny gnome. I gave her all my attention, but still was trying to figure out my own place in new life. My mom was visiting us once a year and always bringing something special and handmade for her grand kids. And one day she asked me if I want to make some dresses for girls.’

And this was the birth of Paulinka:

Excited by the idea Eugenia went to a local fabric store in Berkeley. And found a beautiful Japanese cotton gauze, a super soft fabric with a wonderful colour. This gauze is the basic fabric for all the collections right now because the duo never stopped using it since that time. One year later they opened their very own Paulinka store.

Her mom is a trained seamstress and worked for different ateliers specialized in custom women’s clothes. Later on she moved to a very tiny village where one could only buy groceries. Which meant that all clothes for the little ones were hand made.
‘I thought that it is something that every mom can do and was a little bit embarrassed that I don’t have fancy clothes from a store. I realized just now how lucky I was with all my pretty dresses, corduroy pinafores and tweed coats.’

Inspiration comes from many things like kids books, flowers, paintings and illustrations. Eugenia starts with one colour and one element of clothes. And then creates the collection piece by piece, by adding more colours and details.

‘I am trying to separate my personal preferences in clothes from our brand. I like the idea to give kids more colours and more joy, something pretty and soft, something that kids can wear from one season to another and feel comfortable.’
