Open-ended wooden toys for creative children

wooden toys
Good Morning and are you just as delighted as I am that it is Friday today?

I know that a lot of people say that the days of the week are just a name but I can tell you that a break from home school is definitely worth a mini celebration for me.

So before we all head into our well deserved weekends, I wanted to introduce you to Babai Toys. It is a Ukrainian-based company that specialises in innovative, high-quality toys. And they are made entirely from wood combining tradition with modernity!

The people behind the brand value quality very dearly and strictly follow EU standards and manufacture their toys in an environmentally safe approach. Everything comes with a natural, non-varnished and unpainted finish. As well as smooth corners, making it totally child safe, with no points or sharp edges.

Open-ended wooden toys for creative children:

The wooden houses are amazing and so inviting for creative play. They are magnetic which means they are easy to build as well as to take down. Our amazing bow and arrow set is just the job for little adventurers!

And who does not like a good balancing game? Especially one that looks as cool as this one…

Bohemian creativity in this Copenhagen home

Bohemian creativity

When I saw this place last week I knew I had to share this with you as soon as possible. It is so cool, with lots of creative ideas and a great bohemian vibe throughout. You will love it!

This old industrial building is situated in Copenhagen and is the home of  Sus Mogensen and her family. And when they bought the place they  changed everything  from the ground up. Many things you see in the home are DIY projects so I invite you to take some inspiration. And they used many reclaimed materials to keep it affordable but also sustainable. This home is so warm and unique, please come in:

Loving the big windows, velvet, the mustard coloured sofa, as well as the floor in the bathroom.

The colours are so warm and the home is tinted in some golden reflection when the beautiful Scandinavian lights shines in…

Floor envy anyone?

There is a story to it as well: The wooden floor was once a kitchen that has been moved to the living room and a batch of hand-made bricks forms new flooring. To prevent the floor from getting too “thick”, each tile was cut in half by hand and laid in a beautiful pattern.

And that kids room. So lush… I went out to see if I can find some additional images to show you a little more and was lucky through The Nordroom. And as you can see, more ‘gold’….

Altogether, the decor feels warm, personal and just very cosy. Really very bohemian luxury, rustic and charming.

More Copenhagen home inspiration? How about this colourful family home?

Summer Sale at Loja Dada – the best pieces!

loja dada
The last weeks (months even) have been difficult for all of us. However running a small business through this crisis is an especially task force.

A good friend of mine and owner of children’s boutique Loja Dada who has all the most wanted brands in her shop just started her summer sale. Therefore I did a little selection of the best pieces you can now grab for a great price.
Helping you to add some gorgeous summer pieces to your child’s wardrobe and helping a small business to survive.

Bobo Choses is a no brainer but if you ask me you should go for the jumpers and t-shirts. The summer ones are always fun and great value.

Tiny Cottons has a great colour palette this season and lots of great stripes.

Play Up has lots of gorgeous baby things, but not only. I spotted some cool pieces for mums as well.

Newcomer The Campamento makes me happy with some lovely dresses and sunny prints.

Happy Shopping!

Oh, if you happen to be in Lisbon, their showroom is open with all rules and restrictions in place:
Located near Rato, in the Principe Real Neighbourhood

Fun and delightful clothes for children

Piupiuchick

Ola! Just did Spanish school work with Leonor and Antoine and I am learning with them because my Spanish is very ‘small talk’ limited. And it’s neighbour, Portugal, is home to some wonderful children’s brand including Piupiuchick.

And I want to show you their latest collection today. If you are still looking for some great summer pieces these are perfect. (and on sale)

Mariana, Inês and Marta are making fun and delightful clothes for children out of Porto since 2012. From comfy clothes to cool accessories, lots of passion, creativity and humour for the best childhood days.

The two sisters, Inês and Mariana, and a very good friend, Marta, started when Portugal was in a severe financial crisis and they wanted to bring something fun, and light into the homes and on children:

Piupiuchick is a tribute to childhood. Each collection is a story that we want to tell our children. Stories about our childhood: how we lived, what were our plans, what was the music we loved and the TV shows we watched when we were their age. Above all, it’s an attempt to show them how important these memories that they are creating now are.’

As you know I love independent, small brands that are full of creativity and life. And that focus on the sustainable and fair factor in their production. Away from the high street and more for personality.

Happy Summer to you all!
