I love advent calenders, I always had one when I was a small and actually still now I get one that is not for the kids.

And the best ones are the ones made by hand. Personal and filled with nice little goodies to make the wait for Christmas even more joyful.

I do not know how I came up with this “idea” but in the end it is quite cool because it is part of our decoration and the kids cannot access :)

It is hanging from the ceiling and looks very cheerful with all the little packages. What did I put in there? I found some really cute Winter nesting dolls with a snowman, a penguin, a bird with scarf and hat, a man in a chunky winter coat and Santa Claus is the “baby”. I got a Christmas Lego Set which I divided in 4 parts and some other bits and pieces like stickers and crayons including some sweets of course… it is Christmas in the end.
The structure are just 2 rings which I wrapped in some white yarn and blue/red chenille. I added some felt hearts, red feathers… and tada… the Paul & Paula advent calender for 2012.

By the way, I wonder how the calender will look after we started to open the packages… I guess it will get a bit out of balance :)
