Milan company Looodus has designed a toy that allows children to learn about typography and the alphabet at the same time.

Looodus laser cut each of the 26 letters in the alphabet in the shape of a typeface that begins with that letter, so T is represented by Times New Roman and P is written in Playbill.
The letters slot into a wooden board with the names of the fonts inscribed under each. Fonts were carefully selected for their shapes and sizes, and come in shades of green, blue or red.

Looodus was founded in Milanin 2013  by Stapelfeldt and photographer Denise Bonenti.

But Looodus does more than these great sets, they collaborated with bumoon and look what they have done:


This birdhouse is born from a special collaboration between Bumoon and Looodus Italian design brand for kids.

It includes a lacquered wooden birdhouse that serves as a coat hook, handmade in Italy, and two bird stickers of the same size as the circle of the birdhouse.

It is the product of a close working relationship between the designer, Kurt Stapelfeldt and the artisans which played such an important role in making this piece what it is.

Made entirly from solid wood which was machined and then hand smoothed, all parts received two
under coats and four coats of colour. The bench was assembled, and the adhesives applied in the positions specified by Bumoon and then covered with two coats of transparent satin finishing coats. The result is a luscious surface which is warm and pleasant to touch and looks like it’s as soft as a jelly baby.
