FEZ-Berlin – Freizeit und Erholungszentrum/ Education Adventure and Culture is my childhood. We lived across the street so I went there to meet friends, playing on one of the playgrounds, school outings, to learn swimming and after that I enjoyed the swimming lake in summer, biking through the woods and as a teenager I joined a couple of work shops.
Now I am back with my very own children.

FEZ-Berlin is the largest non-profit children, youth and family centre in Europe. It offers creative games, fun, and recreation together with a multitude of unique activities in the fields of art, drama, music, media, ecology, technology, space travel, a children’s museum, educational games, international and multicultural youth activities. All this takes place within an expansive 13.000 sqm indoor and 100.000 sqm outdoor area. Yes, thats right…sooooooooo big. It is situated in the outskirts of Berlin and you can, without any difficulties, spend a whole day here. There are always various activities in the swimming pool, the sports centre, the theatre and the concert halls, the art studio, the cinema and the many attractive playgrounds on the location. During school holidays they always come up with some attractive program. Whether the Olympics of Cuisine, a Schultuetenfest/ first-day-of-school festival , a family triathlon or a travel fair… There is a little train you can take to visit the full park, children can stamp their own ticket in the train.

FEZ is incorporated as an extracurricular educational organisation into the programmes of day-care centres and schools. Some chose to visit the location simply for an outdoor day trip. Projects such as “Europe Visits FEZ” add a substantial contribution to the European process of unification, exposing the children, youth and families to the cultures and lifestyles of the different European nations.

Each year an estimated 1 million people visit FEZ.
No entrance fee for the park! ( I nearly forgot to mention this…)
