Café Krudthuset
Go through Christiania and show your kids the Free Area of Copenhagen and on Holmen behind the new Opera, you will find this fantastic paradise of a café and restaurant for families with children. You can also get there by boat which kids will love! The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed and children are more than welcome. Actually, children are the queens and kings here with both outdoor and indoor play area with lots of toys and books and children’s menus with organic food. For babies you have changing and nursing facilities as well. On weekends, they serve a nice organic brunch buffet with coffee and tea for 150 Dkr. Don’t forget to book a table, especially during spring and summer time cause it’s always booked. Get a table outside in the sun and let the kids run around and play while you relax!

Bistrot Bobo
Typical French bistro suitable for families. The food is fresh, healthy and at reasonable prices and the atmosphere is relaxed, cozy and informal. Kids have high chairs, drawing sets, children’s menus and an entire play room with cartoon movies and lots of toys, something for all ages. When we visited Bistrot Bobo, our girls were so busy playing that they didn’t have time for their delicious spagetti Bolognese. We, on the other hand, relaxed and enjoyed a lovely Confit de Canard and a nice glass of Merlot. All in all, the perfect restaurant for an evening dinner with family and friends. Situated just by Nordhavn Station with the S Train, so easy to access as well for tourists.

Fantastic and very cool concept store with both design and fashion. Normann of Copenhagen has their own design brand with cool and functional products. They also have a big area with children’s toys, furniture and clothing. Often Danish brands such as Holly’s, Gro and Krista Lynggaard. Definately worth a visit.

Fabulous shop where you will find beautiful children’s clothes and shoes and where the service and guidance is always nice and competent. Very nice little shop packed with baby- and children’s clothes and toys of high quality. The style is charming and nostalgic! Christina the owner has a fantastic eye for cute and special products. You will find a wide selection of Danish and French brands and Christina also creates her own beautiful clothes in Liberty fabrics and gorgeous knits. This little shop is mekka for finding fun birthday presents and you have a small playground just outside, so perfect for parents and kids!

Copenhagen Zoo
The Copenhagen Zoo is one of the most beautiful zoos I have ever seen. The whole family will enjoy it for sure! In the Children’s Zoo you may ride a pony, visit the African Pygmy goats or get close to snakes, rabbits and other animals in the Zoo Stage. The Rabbit Playground is open all year. Every day at 3.20 p.m. you can watch the cow being milked. And a new aviary for flamingos opened recently.

The Children’s Museum at the National
The Children’s Museum at the National Museum in Copenhagen has some very interesting exhibitions and they are all free, som no excuse for a little visit. Here you can discover and explore how they ate, worked, played and dressed in the old days and the children can even make their own exhibitions. Definately a fantastic children’s Museum !
The Museum also houses a restaurant, the Julian Restaurant that offers a delicious brunch buffet. The perfect combo for rainy autumn and winter days. At the restaurant and at the Museum you will find high chairs, changing facilities and free strollers (you can’t bring your own, leave it at the stroller parking in the lobby). If you carry a big bag, you also have to leave it at the wardrope, that cost 10 DKR that you get back when leaving again.

Playground Christianhavns Vold
Very calm playground situated on the old Christianshavn Rampart as part of the city’s ancient Bastioned Ring Fortifications. The playground is being refurbished and has a part for toddlers and older kids. (Baby swing and basket ball court,..). During the week, supervisors are there to look after the children and you will find lots of bicycles and toys. Afterward, you can go for a walk around the fantastic small lakes down the hill or go for a cup of coffee on the other side at Løven & Bastionen.
