Breakfast international {Paul & Paula series} part one

A new series is starting on Paul & Paula today: Breakfast international!

My blog is very international and I love it, so I thought it would be really interesting to hear what people are having for breakfast in the different parts of the world.

Breakfast is important, it is the first meal of the day, the one to wake you up and the one that might help to decide wether you are on for a good day (or not)…

I invite you to have a look into the kitchen and breakfast tables with some dear blogging friends!

I am starting with Bekka from Sisters Guild!

Name: Bekka

Shop: Sisters Guild

Where do you live: Brighton, England

Your kids names and age: Gabriel, Age 3

What does he have for breakfast: Brown seeded bread toasted with butter and marmite.

I am always amazed at how early Gabriel can eat marmite. It is such a strong flavour, yet he will ask for marmite toast first thing in the morning – even at 6 o’clock. Maybe it’s the Vitamin B he’s craving. And I did eat lots of marmite toast when I was pregnant with him – rounds of marmite toast and glasses of goats milk was my craving!

Marmite is a love or hate kind of food. Our family devour lots of it, apart from Grandpa who detests it – and of course because Gabriel knows this he will put a piece of toast close to Grandpas face just to see the ‘yuck’ reaction!

My sister Carla recently gave us the new extra strong marmite to try, XO for extra old (matured for longer!) It’s a true test for marmite fans…..and yes, Gabriel loved it. The picture shows Gabriel insisting on spreading his own, so thick, oh my!

What is mummy (daddy) having for breakfast: For summer it’s a a bowl of yoghurt and muesli, with lots of seasonal fruit – strawberries, raspberries or blackberries. For winter it has to be a big bowl of porridge with honey. And at weekends breakfast can be about 3 courses over a long lazy morning. My favourite is Eggs ‘Royale’ which my husband does as a twist on Eggs Benedict – Muffin, Poached Egg, Smoked Salmon and Hollandaise Sauce…..delicious!

There, Peggy, you’ve got me chattering away about food again and getting hungry. Off to the kitchen I go…..

Note: Yes the sisters and I we love to chat and tweet about food :)

{Thank you so much Bekka for joining in!}
