Louis Louise A/W 2016

Louis Louise

Louis Louise never disappoints.

And the Louis Louise A/W 2016 collection is the perfect mix between modern and romantic. Poetic really yet fresh and timeless!
The brand is a true staple here on Paul & Paula and has been featured many times. And I know you really love it as well. Between the ruffles, special fabrics, subtle colours and all the exquisite details there is always the French touch.

The cool, the chic and the nonchalance.

Every season we fall in love all over again and every season I look at the pretty and elegant dresses and wonder, at the same time, how is it possible to come up with a boys collection that is so cool at the very same time?!

Every season you will find the star print and they truly just never go out of style. I love this shirt for boys for example.

For the upcoming festive days you should have a look at the party wear selection. So cute!

PS: That poncho!

PSS: I am already curious to see their new Summer collection…

Gifts for Tweens {ideas 2016}

Gifts for Teens

Gifts for Tweens

– Romy is 9 1/2 now and I can see that her interests and taste are changing. This time before they become teenagers. This time where they are not children anymore… too old for toys and too young for boys… or at least not interested at all in our case.
And I love this. I love the talks we have now. Her curiosity and personality that takes more and more shape.

When your kids were small / below eight you were usually confronted with many shops, things, toys, accessories and more. Probably more than one can need and digest. And then the overwhelming kids world starts to fade. There is less and there is a little gap for these cute 9-12 years old. But there are great things!

Here is my list of great gift ideas that I would buy without a doubt for my own tween.

Pispiripispo – clothing for girls

Pispiripispo

Welcome new brand Pispiripispo from San Sebastián, Spain!

The new label from Elena Silvestre and Diego Berné – a graphic designer and a fashion designer that joined forces to create a fresh new clothing brand.
Pispiripispo is a girls clothing brand (2 to 9 years old) that was launched in 2015 and is for everyone who believes creativity is a must in their children’s life.

The current A/W 2016 line is the second collection this small family business created. Fashion designer Elena designs the collections, while Diego develops the fabric patterns, which are based on their children’s, Adriana & Olivia, drawings. I love this happy dress and I am sure our children can very much relate to the design as well.

The fabrics are printed in Madrid.

Pispiripispo girls love to be creative, they love reading and dancing, maybe skating and definitely getting dirty. And they love to wear clothes that are inspired by them!

Clothes are their second skin and allow them to grow up appreciating the fabrics touch, shapes and colours that they wear on a daily basis while rolling around at school playground or on a special day at a birthday celebration by friends. Distinctive graphics and pattern structures that allow them to freely move. Fashion and comfort aren’t meant to be confronted.

Finally and very important – the brand supports the small textile industry and produces everything locally. Choosing quality raw materials and focusing on details.

I am very much looking forward to see more from Elena and Diego and what their daughters came up with. Which drawing will be on the next skirt or top?

Mademoiselle à Soho

Mademoiselle à Soho
Mademoiselle à Soho is a dream. A dream of wool, perfect silhouettes, layers of gorgeous colours and soft garments.

Garments to run around, to be chic, to be a child and to show your personality.

Alexana, founder and designer of Mademoiselle à Soho…

… grew up in a family of artists. Raised in a place full of imagination, fantasy, costumes and fairy tales. And with two grand-mothers that handmade clothes for her and her sister. Watching them making the clothes and dreaming to be able to do the same one day.
Mademoiselle à Soho combines Alexana’s roots – French design, American comfort and Romanian craft. The line is produced in Romania, in a family owned sewing shop. The natural fabrics are made in Europe and handcrafted with care. The knits are hand made by passionate grannies from Italian yarns. Every piece has its story.

When I first discovered the brand I felt like I could feel the authenticate ‘touch’. The hand made and unique flair that every piece has. It is very special and once again – a big reason why I am so fond of small brands.

As a big fans of cute little vests my favourite pieces are the long cardi and the loop vest. So versatile and great to keep the kids warm but let them move around easily and free.

The collection is available here.
