Superhero Birthday Party

My boy turned S I X!

And he wanted to be a hero for his special day… so a superhero party we did and yes it was super fun! Rather cosy and at home but then I think: Aren’t those the best parties anyway? A little more personal…

I searched the net about ideas {Thank you Pinterest} and partnered with my favourite party supply store Little Lulubel to add the right tableware and other little details to make it super special.

My friend Claire came up with some very cool printables that are now available for you right here. {Planning a superhero party too? We got you all sorted…}

The table was set with matching plates, napkins & cups. Some fun stickers on the wooden spoons and straw flags. BOOM!

Silver confetti all over and we were ready for the little guests… I mean R E A D Y… we started at 2pm so you imagine the excitement… and you wonder if a party starting at 8 am would be appropriate…

Knock Knock… the guests are arriving…

After some birthday cake and refreshments we did a few, Superhero themed, party games. We seperated the kids in two groups:

* Building a KAPLA skyscraper. The highest won! {teamwork exercise…}

* In our long corridor we set up a little trail so the kids could walk/climb/jump over some obstacles like real heroes

* We built a tower of cans {houses} that the kids had to bring down by throwing a ball {In German it is called Dosenwerfen but no idea what that would be in English… anyone?}.

*  And we did pot hitting which was super fun and such a cool old fashion party game. When I was a kid it was a standard game at any party. Today no kid knows what that is… but they loved it.

*  I also painted a white sheet with some skyscrapers and clouds so the kids could pretend they were flying around in the sky or climbing up a skyscraper… and I took some fun pics

And in the end we had a pinata! One with a magic pull string…

We nearly, even the kids, forgot about it… so it was a big surprise for everyone.

We had fun and all the little big superheroes left with a smile…

PS: There is a Superhero party kit available at Little Lulubel right here. I selected items one by one and did my own but this has everything for a great party.
