The first Interior Tuesday in 2019 and I have this absolutely fabulous family home situated in Williamsburg, NY for you.
This is a special place (as you probably already guessed from the images) and the owners are nobody else than famous artist Brian Donnelly – probably better known as KAWS – and his wife Julia Chang. Julia is a very renowned artist/ sculptor as well.
So it is no surprise that their two daughters are growing up in a home filled with exciting art pieces and funky furniture.
This is the kids room! The colourful work is by Takashi Murakami and surely brightens the room. The bed is from Oeuf.
Light-filled open spaces that have a piece of impressive art or extravagant furniture in every corner.
I like that the space is not overwhelming or crowded (something you see quite often by artist owned houses).
Loving the wall in the living room that is covered with various artworks. (do you remember my article about gallery walls with kids’ art work?)
And then this patio! The view!
True, this is not an ordinary house but I feel that sometimes we can also have a look at something different. We may not able to afford a big space like this in the capital of all hipsters and we may not be able to afford some of the art living here. But it may inspire us to add some more colour into our lives? Or to mix things up a little more?
