Oh hello. I know I am talking quite a bit about the weather but wow… the sky has not seen anything blue for what feels like a decade. And when I receive an e mail with the most colourful shoes that are made just over the bridge, well, yes… that makes me happy!

Melula is a children’s shoe brand from Copenhagen, Denmark. The design duo Louise Møllermark and Søren Hougesen joined forces in 2015. Focusing on simple and beautiful design aesthetics.

Melula is a direct product of this collaboration.

‘We love kids, kids are fun just as they are – active, creative and playful. Melula was founded because we couldn’t find children’s shoes with both a childlike and playful look in combination with a feel of the simplicity of Scandinavian design.’

Today you can get a glimpse here of the new Spring / Summer 2018 collection. A classic stylish shoe that is playful, fun and has a unique colourful approach to design.

Shoes that make you happy and lets you go through a colourful life. I love that it is a rather simple shoe. One for every day use but with the colours it will pimp every outfit and make the little ones look super stylish.

‘Quality and comfort are extremely important while creating a shoe for children. That’s why we chose a soft material, which is suitable for the foot. The material and the inner construction stabilizes the ankle but also make it flexible enough to bend, which is important for move-ability.

Louise and Søren focus heavily on the design and the production as the most important ingredients in the development of the collection. The production is an important factor and they cooperate only with manufacturers that have full transparency and work within ethical guidelines, fair working conditions and the compliance with environmental standards.
