LumoKids

LumoKids
LumoKids was started by Sanne and Yes, a husband and wife duo, a family business.
Together with designers Juuso & Otso and based in Helsinki, Finland they wanted to create furniture with a timeless design and made of natural materials.

Most of the products are perfect for small, challenging spaces. ‘Functionality is always an important aspect of design.’
Making LumoKids especially interesting for families in big cities.

The bunk bed, for example, consists of two beds. Making it easy to adapt to growing kids and possible home changes. comprises the Korento and Ketara beds. All beds are available in 160cm or 200cm.

All products are made of natural materials. Birch plywood for frame parts and cotton for textiles, as well as leather for the Mushroom stools.

‘Because our products will be used by children, we included them in the design process from the very beginning. In this way we created a range which, while being safe, is also the place for adventure and play.’

Otso Leppänen is an industrial designer: “In the Ketara and Korento beds I have designed, the aim is to offer children a frame in which to shape the space they desire – their own nook, hut or hiding place, which grows along with the child and reminds them of home and safety.”

Juuso Andersin is an industrial and designed the Sieni storage stool and the Kaarna children’s table.

My personal favorite is the Ketara bed with a canopy.
