Colourful chalkboard walls

Colourful chalkboard walls
We all love to create a fun and interesting home for our families. Cosy, stylish and full of life. If we can add some creative aspects – perfect!

An easy option is the famous chalkboard wall. I showed you some inspiring spaces already and I still think that this one of the best solutions. And you know what, the whole chalkboard wall thing just got better. Like a million times better.
Why?

Because Farrow & Ball is now in the game too. On the top of the game actually because now you can get chalkboard paints in all colours of the rainbow. The Farrow & ball rainbow if you know what I mean. Because they do have the best colours. No question!

Done with the black and ready for some cool colours. Especially with Spring just ahead of us, this is so good!

For the occasion I found some more inspiring spaces for you:

White? Yes, why not. Surprising, fun and you keep the light in your house. There are lots of shades of white to choose from…

Green is another classic, but what about a lighter shade?

Or something more yellow? Farrow & Ball has a shade called India Yellow for example.

Or something bright and happy like violet?

Farrow & Ball is an English brand known for a rich colour range. The chalkboard paints are available in matte and semi-matte. Each of these paint types is suitable for your walls or ceilings.

Yes, I am really excited about this. It also means that chalkboard walls do not necessarily have to look like a classroom and you can integrate them now in any corner of your beautiful home.

The biggest issue might be – which colour to choose?!

Konfetti Kids – new kids store in Barcelona

Konfetti Kids - new kids store in Barcelona
Barcelona is THE city at the moment and if you happen to live there {lucky you!} or planning a trip, then take note now: there is a new kids shop called KONFETTI KIDS that opened just recently in the Barrio Gotico disctrict. And it looks really super inviting and fun.

And so does the online shop by the way, I love the illustrations.

Claudia is originally from Bergamo, Italy.
After her studies she collected some professional experiences in women’s wear, where she had the chance to travel and fall in love with Berlin.
Five years ago Claudia decided to move to Berlin, met her husband Michael and in March 2015  their daughter Lilien was born.

Since Lilien Claudia’s interest in the world of kids wear started to grow. Thinking about quality and good design and how to combine both. The starting point for her ‘project’.

In 2016, the family decided to move to Barcelona and in May this year Claudia found the perfect location for KONFETTI KIDS in a beautiful street of the Barrio Gotico and her project became finally real!

So, yes, the concept was conceived in Berlin and is now based in Barcelona. A concept store for the whole family with a hand-picked selection of international brands for children that reflects her passion for good quality and design.

Lovely Paper by Djeco

Lovely Paper by Djeco
The creative team of the Djeco brand has launched a new line: Lovely Paper. And we were so lucky to be able to test and try some of those products here at home.

I have a very soft spot for anything paper. Books, magazines, postcards and of course craft supplies. This is perfect. Djeco is a brand that I always check when I need a gift, adding the Paper Collection is such a great extension because finding gifts for teens is not always easy but they {usually} all love crafting.

Everything is beautifully illustrated – of course- and the new collection includes notebooks, gums, pencil cases, masking tape, diaries, pens and colored pencils and also these cool glossy stickers that I still know from my own childhood. The ones we collected, got albums and carefully sticked them in those. And then showed them to our friends. Do you remember these?

This beautiful Djeco stationery range makes every kid’s heart beat faster.

There are also glitter and metallic markers,  secret notebooks and mini stamps sets.

And those beautiful flowers that Leonor loved to put together. The set includes everything to create these Origami beauties and make a really lovely decoration for parties or in the kids room.

As you see there is truly something for everyone and a good craft session, on a Sunday morning for example, is always a winner here.

We also got this really cool Silk Scarf set in the Peacock Design.
It contains a silk scarf that you tightly pin to the box to make a taut canvas. Then you paint the design with the silk paint. The paint will stay nicely in the ‘designated areas’ – it is made like this. Step-by-step, the scarf will be an absolute beauty.
Romy loved to do this!

This shop has a good selection of the Lovely paper collection!

Happy week end everyone, maybe with some crafty moments. Seeing the weather we have here now it is time…

5 inspiring playrooms

playroom
Whenever I share a picture of our playroom on Instagram {here or here for example} the feedback is always really good, interested and often I get lots of questions.

So I thought it is time to share a little more about playrooms. Ours came together by accident. More or less. It started to be a bedroom when we moved in. But the kids preferred to sleep with a sibling {or us} and the bed in there stayed empty. After a while we moved it and VOILA – the playroom was born.

It is definitely one of the most used rooms {together with the kitchen} in our house however I learned and saw at friends houses – is the playroom not close to where everything happens and where you are, it is not used that much. Ours is connected to the kitchen and it is perfect.

How you decorate and fill your playroom is of course up to you. A reading nook or even a small sofa or a good armchair are perfect for quieter moments. A table is a must for jigsaws, board games and and and…

We have a very long hallway next to the playroom and the table is there most of the times {we just moved it in the playroom actually, I like to change and try new set ups}.

Online you can find lots of inspiration and objects on Flinders for example – little furniture and great decor articles to personalize your space.

Here are 5 inspiring playrooms that I would like to share with you and to give you some ideas:

Love the dollhouse used as a shelf, the cute reading corner with the books on display and the mirror. Little people find themselves very interesting and this is a brilliant idea.

Very organized and such a happy space, don’t you think? Love the rug and the big table for lots of crating fun and creative moments!

Good storage solutions are essential and of course it depends on your house what is possible. I love built-in shelves and I like this little bench on the wall.

Probably the most used item is a good table for kids. Drawing, crafting, reading and and and….

Another fabulous idea – spots. Wall decals. You can take them off easily once you get bored of them or your kids change interest {grow up!}. That sofa is awesome and such a great solution for a room under the roof.

Have a playful day!
