Alexandra Gizela started her own infant and children’s accessories line called Cabbages & Kings just very recently and as I am so so crazy about accessories (you should see my cupboard and the ones of the kids too)… woooot… I was instantly in looooooove!

In Fall 2010, Alexandra gave birth to her first child and with winter just around the corner, she ventured out in search of warm, durable, yet fashionable clothing, only to be bombarded with scratchy wools and lifeless fleeces. But out of this frustration came an idea. “Why not design and make what I’m searching for?! As they say- if you want it done right, do it yourself!” And so Cabbages & Kings was born.

Cabbages & Kings is a strong supporter of fair trade and strives to build bridges between artisans of excellence and socially responsible consumers.
“All of our accessories are hand made by the Sumaq Ruracc, a Quechua-speaking group that live in an Andean Valley in Peru 11,000 ft. above sea level. The Sumaq Ruracc work in collaboration with a network made up of 14 community groups, churches and non-governmental organizations called Bridge of Hope that work to strengthen the capacities of local, participating institutions and base communities.”

Those legwarmers are the best … really… perfect line for Amsterdam weather – like all year round actually…
