Blog: Smiling like Sunshine

Where do you live:I am originally from Turkey but I have been living in the UK for 5 years.

Your kids names and age:Defne 4 1/2 and Derin 19 months

What do they have for breakfast:Defne is very picky about her breakfast. She loves musli or granola with rice milk, toasted bread with creem cheese and jam or honey. Derin is very fond of his food. He loves scrambled eggs,paninis. I sometimes prepare mashed banas mixed with a teaspoon of tahini, great for babies! Recently both kids love eating summer fruits like peaches or nectarines. Oh and I must admit, Derin will scream his head off if I don’t give him some petit pain!

What is mummy (and daddy) having for breakfast: During the week we like eating musli (or porridge in winter). On the weekends, we enjoy a long, lazy breakfast. Although it has some must-have Turkish breakfast elements , it’s an eclectic mix of Continantel style breakfast. The must-have items for a Turkish breakfast are cheese, olives, jam/honey, eggs (scrambled or boiled),sliced tomatoes and cucumbers and black tea. We prefer drinking coffee and orange juice instead of tea. We also like to treat us with croissant, petit pain au chocolat or pain aux raisin. This is obviously a very filling breakfast so on the weekends we skip the lunch!

{Thank you Isil for participating.}
