Antoine & Leonor’s bedroom

Antoine & Leonor's bedroom

I did it! I finally took pictures of Antoine & Leonor’s new bedroom. You remember that we changed things around when Josephine joined us. My old office / guest room moved out and became another kids bedroom.

We now have one playroom, Romy has her own room {where Antoine used to sleep too until the change}, a bedroom for Antoine & Leonor and a corner for the baby in our {truly giant} bedroom. And as I often get asked how old the kids are when it comes to rooms and where they sleep: Romy is 9 {in just a few weeks}, Antoine 6, Leonor 3 1/2 and Josephine 8 months. {at time of this post}

So we do have a 6 year old boy and a 3 1/2 year old girl sharing a bedroom. As you know I am totally not into the gender stereotype – not much of pink and blue going on here.
Let’s have a look at the room and how we managed a neutral place where everyone feels comfortable:

Bunk bed. Yes we did it. When we changed the rooms around we actually put Leonor’s toddler bed here plus the bed Antoine had. The room is not really very small but not huge either and somehow those 2 single beds did not look great in there. On top we have one wall with build in wardrobes and the other one is not straight. Did not help here…

So bunk bed it was. We did have the toddler bed from RAFA kids before and we quickly decided that it would look lovely and best to stick to the design and extend the range. Plus the bunk from Rafa is so cool and sleek.

Of course we wondered how this all will work. Will they climb up all the time? Fall down? Everyone wants to sleep on top? Nobody down? And and and…

But hey… it all worked out rather easy and without a big fuss. I also had a great time to create a little nest for Leonor to make the bottom really exciting… and I think she really loves her cute little corner down there…

Antoine now also has a dedicated place to display his Lego’s.

I found this lovely Vintage chair here in Malmo, put a colourful mini bunting in the window {you probably notice a few things you saw in the other rooms before… yes, pieces are moving around all the time}.

This is how it looks “under the bunk bed”… did I maybe just went a little overboard? {hmmmm…}

I am sure it makes for extra sweet dreams!

I painted the wooden stick that traveled with us from Amsterdam already and I just never found a perfect spot for it.

What do you think?

We kept the guest sofa here and it now serves as a reading corner – especially for bedtime stories. And when family comes to visit they also still use it as a guest bed.
