Today I am taking you to The Netherlands. To the countryside and a very special property that I know you will adore as much as I do.
This monumental farmhouse was completely renovated and turned into a stunning family home. Including work areas, a huge backyard plus a large wooden outdoor residence.
It is a national monument, and yet meets all the requirements of the contemporary era. The entire construction of the house has taken place in close consultation with the National Monument Service. Note that the farm dates back to 1650 and was in a dilapidated state until 2012, only the outer walls and beams were still standing.
Therefore we will go straight to the good stuff and have a look. As you can guess from the first image – the kids rooms are amazing and that is where we will start the tour:

The beams are definitely the T H I N G! They have such an impact, charm, and charisma. And I love how they are used to decorate the rooms.
And a little playroom in the lower ground that is just the perfect amount of space, toys, and fun.
Also loving all the little details and things that must have been inherited or found when strolling through markets and garage sales.

What a space!
So much light, great big windows, and great wall features… take that striking wall of the various panel doors that the original house revealed and that have been placed against the rear facade for example.
The farmhouse is situated in s’Gravenmoer which is a lively little village in the center of The Netherlands. You can reach the cities of Breda, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Tilburg quickly and a 5-minute walk takes you to a beautiful nature reserve adjacent to ‘s Gravenmoer, where many hiking and cycling trails are located.
