Handmade bohemian furniture for the kids room

sacred bundle
The story of Sacred Bundle started in the South of France. Where Guillaume and Brooke met and where Brooke shared her dream and vision with the man she met.

Today they are living in Australia, Brooke’s home country, and make some truly magical furniture and accessories for nurseries and children’s rooms.

Handmade bohemian pieces that are made with love as well as unique Moroccan textiles! Everything is uniquely designed, exclusive, fair trade, and made from natural materials.

When looking through these images, I find that the rattan really makes for a very calm, tranquil, and natural atmosphere. Just beautiful and so boho:

From the cute wall decor, to the most gorgeous bassinets, and the rugs. Beautiful morrocan rugs in various sizes that of course can find a spot outside the nursery too.

And for even more natural nursery inspiration I have this for you: natural kids decor and a natural nursery.

Children’s furniture with a taste of nostalgia

Children's furniture
Etablissements Minus is a beautiful French brand, which designs children’s furniture, in its workshop in Bayonne. Furniture with a nostalgic touch to be precise.

Every piece feels a little bit like it was in the family for a very long time. Well, it probably is the beginning and one day, somebody can say that it has been.

The brand is inspired by nostalgia, a love of vintage objects and passion for craftsmanship. Therefore, the furniture is made of solid oak and raw steel, giving character to each creation.

It has been a while that I shared a great furniture brand, but this one really made me stop whilst browsing for a good moment. There is so much charme and love involved:

The wood is so beautiful!

And the good thing is, this is furniture that will follow your children for many years. It is timeless and can easily be moved around the house. A great table, storage bench or coat rack is useful for many years. And later, it will find a new life with the children of your children…

To perfect the kids room, I have a beautiful accessory brand that will go so nicely with these pieces – have a look!

Whimsical nature inspired baby furniture

Nature King baby furniture

Oh today we are waking up those baby hormones! And if you are not pregnant or talking about a family addition, maybe share this with a friend who is. Because it would be a shame to not to…

Because when I found these beautiful boho inspired nursery pieces I was smitten right away. And the story behind Nature King is all about family and love. Elina and Janis, designed the hanging cradle* for their first baby to place it beside their bed. Something they dreamed about from the moment they knew there was a little one joining them.

Soothing baby off to sweet dreams and mimicking being cradled in mum’s arms with the soft movements. And once your little one is bigger, the hanging bed can easily transform into a standing cradle. (you know I love functional and transformable things that grow with the kids!)

But of course, before anything I feel in love with the whimsical design. Stylish, minimalist, boho, natural and such beautiful craftsmanship:

Once they designed the hanging cradle and people discovered it in the house and, of course, wanted one too the next project came up. Because not everyone can make a hole in their ceiling. (and in some houses you probably really should not!)

The standing crib* was born. A piece that can move around the house as well and is just as appealing as the other version.

Every crib is handmade with lots of passion and love, and Elina’s mother Mara helped with the design and making of the white twine that surrounds the wooden structure. Family business! It forms a small diamond pattern that starts from the top of the frame and ends with the base. From the base to the floor hangs light twine as well. Simply beautiful!

maké maké’s products lets children’s imagination flow free and stimulates their creativity.
Some of the furniture forms, shapes and lines take inspiration from artists such as Alexander Calder and Joan Miro.

Our playful furniture combines functionality and the fun of a construction set.

I think my favourite is BENKO – a bench but can be used for lots of things really. Especially in a playroom this comes in very handy. Rather small, light and great for role play.

Avlia – children’s furniture in the shapes of farm animals

Avlia – Furniture System for Children

Avlia is a Furniture System for Children in the shapes of farm animals that can be used as both toys and functional pieces of furniture.

Nataša Njegovanović created a desk shaped like a cow, a toy chest in the shape of a pig, stools made to look like cats and dogs, and a pencil box designed to look like a chicken.

The simple design leaves enough room for children to use their imaginations and turn the pieces into new things that bring their world of pretend to life. I love how the animals became design objects and still appeal to children and their needs. Not too cute, not too polished – just great furniture that is lovely to look at and interesting!

Made mostly from Slavonian oak, the toys were inspired by a time when children played with wooden toys and when nature and animals were the main sources of entertainment for children.’

Nataša wanted to create a counter-offer to encourage the natural creativity of our children. Living in a world where electronic games and toys dominate. All the pieces together set the scene for games yet to be discovered.

Avlia – Furniture System for Children is allowing our little ones to invent their own games and stories. The collection draws upon the Croatian village in which all of the pieces were created, promoting the tradition and simple aesthetic of the region it hails from.
