A proper Interior Tuesday today and I have one eclectic kids room to show to you. And when the owner also runs a Vintage & Antique shop, you know you will be in for a treat.
This beautiful house is situated here in London and has a detail to be discovered in every corner. A cool velvet and hot pink sofa, a Moroccan tiled feature wall, or a deep copper and white enameled bath in the master suite.
Getting curious? I bet you do!
And the rooms of Madeline and Tippi Rose are just equally stunning and intriguing. For myself, I wish I could go for a flea market stroll tomorrow.
Modern wallpaper, vintage armoires, quirky accessories and lots of animal friends:
What do you think about this mix? A little bit girl, slightly boho, definitely fun and a whole lot of sweet. Rooms to dream, to play and to talk with your sister until late at night and you cannot keep your eyes open any longer.
After sharing the most darling baby clothing brands and ideas for a baby’s first Christmas, I have something else that is just as fab for the youngest of our families. US brand Lovevery just launched it’s children’s educational play products and toys in Europe.
The young and award-winning brand wants to help all parents feel confident that they are giving their children the best start in life. How? Lovevery’s toys promote brain development and give children the best possible start in life. They launched with their bestselling Play Gym and Block Set that I will show you more in detail below.
Every product is rooted in science, thoughtfully crafted, and made for learning. We received samples to have a look at the quality and I have to say I am very impressed. You know that I love wooden toys and as a mum of 4 I have seen and played myself with a lot of toys. The colours are vibrant, the wood very soft, the edges are round, and the packaging is on par with what I expect from a high-quality brand.
What does Lovevery stand for?
Our goal is to help every parent feel confident. Our play products are designed by child development experts with the simplest, purest purpose: to be exactly what children need at each stage.
Jessica and Rod created Lovevery, to help create developmental experiences in the lives of new babies and families. Helping parents feel confident that they are giving their little ones just what they want and need every step of the way.
The award-winning Block Set
Now, you may say: Blocks are blocks and have been around for generations. And that is true. However, here is an innovative approach to an old concept. This 70 pieces high-quality wooden set that comes with accompanying shapes and tools is designed to take a child from 18 to 48+ months seamlessly. It is made from sustainably harvested wood and water-based non-toxic paint and comes in a very beautiful wooden box.
And all together we are looking at 20 stage-based challenges and activities that are possible with just one set: 18 colourful cubes for counting, stacking and toppling. Mix and match with other shapes to explore more advanced physical concepts. 18 differently coloured planks for fun practice with balance, stability, and geometry. 9 geometrically shaped blocks and 2 arches for imaginative play, shape sorting, and more complex building and balancing. 4 wooden friends to help bring a whole new world of imagination to life. And even more magic: 7 pieces fit together to transform the wooden storage box into a simple pull along car! Next, you have 7 threadable wooden items and the shape-sorting lid, and a divider doubles as a ramp. Phew! Plenty of playtime ahead!
The play gym that gives you a whole year of play
The gym is crafted with natural materials, and sustainably sourced, FSC-certified wood. And it is a product that will help you connect with your baby as they discover their new world. The mat comes with all accessories like various card sets, teething rings, contrast balls, and more. It focuses on the baby’s whole first year of play. And includes everything needed from battling teething, to tummy time, to learning to focus.
Personally, I like the look of this gym. It is an essential item and nice when it manages to be colourful and interesting enough for your baby and still fits in with your home and aesthetics. Furthermore, your baby will enjoy the high contrasts, the different textures, and you will love: There are no crazy and endless sounds!
Altogether I think that these products cover your baby’s and toddler’s needs perfectly. The investment of a high-quality toy, that entertains your child over a long period is well worth it. They do not need much, but stimulation and toys that get their creativity and senses going are ideal!
Grounded by science and backed by research, both products are designed to create developmental experiences in the lives of babies and children. Encompassing modern designs and updated approaches to early learning.
In collaboration with Lovevery!
PS: Loving the colours of the blocks… toys that decorate when baby is asleep!
This time I am sending you into the last month of the year. 2020 is close of being over and even so we have no idea what 2021 will bring, I am assuming everyone’s expectations are rather low. Therefore, it will be good! It has to be!
Over here, I did not manage to get this list out on the last Friday of the month as I am usually aiming for. But… just in time to start December – tomorrow- all merry, jolly and inspired.
Below, my finds, bookmarks and everything `I want to share with you. Full of gift ideas, beautiful things… and more.
Enjoy, have a wonderful festive time and remember: Love is the answer.
Cosy Christmas Days with these chunky blankets in various sizes and colours!
Sculptural shifts in ceiling heights with clever spatial proportions!
The absolute best workout leggings, especially for running are these. I love them and never wear anything else when doing my laps.
Loving the colourful stairs going up to the uber cool bunk bed. Family home in Denmark.
We want baby clothing to be super soft, practical and easy to put on. Another big pro are neutral and subtle colours, because it will make it easier to pass the lovely pieces on to siblings later.
My youngest turned 5 not that long ago but I still remember the baby years of each of my children like it was yesterday. And how I loved to see them in clothes that were worn by their sibling (s) before. Because if you go for timeless, good quality clothing it will truly come to life again and again.
Cute little knitted jumpers for winter, comfortable rompers, muslin tops, and soft pyjamas for sweet dreams. Some of the most precious pieces are kept in a box now and may be worn by my children’s children one day.
When it comes to baby clothes my main concern was always the material. How soft and stretchy the garment is and that I can dress my little one without too much of a fuss. Personally I have never been a fan of big prints and ‘loud’ colours. Beautiful children, as they all are, are perfect in subtle colours which highlight that. (Of course, the truth is… the older your children are the more you will need to compromise and go with their wishes, taste and personality… and that is totally fine!)
And even so I am a little out of the baby years myself I still love to have a look what is in stores. Therefore I would like to share the following brands that have truly lovely collections.
Now let’s have a look at these three adorable baby clothing brands that put baby’s comfort on top of their list:
Yes, this fantastic brand from Amsterdam added a baby line to their repertoire. Simple, poetic, tasteful and comfortable. You can find soft leggings, muslin rompers, cardigans and bloomers. The colour range goes from camel, gray, to soft orange and a lovely shade of blue. Repose AMS crafts clothes for both boys and girls that are imaginative and modern, all while staying timeless. Everything is so well-made, relaxed and bound to appeal to both parents and children.
Paul & Paula loves: This muslin cotton romper* which is comfortably cool and perfect. Perfect for layering and available in a beautiful and subtle colour range.
Oeuf NYC is a long time favourite and a brand I have had and have for my own for many years. The designs are just adorable, the alpaca so soft and lovely to wear. And your baby will just like delicious! The collections of children’s and babies’ clothing and accessories are made fair-trade in Bolivia. The brand continuous to focus on high-quality, beautiful products and their commitment to environmental and social causes.
Quincy Mae is embellished with delicate prints taken from the designer’s beautiful illustrations. The line is a collection of basics for little ones made from organic materials. Feather-soft and extra-comfy, the collections of poetic and timeless wardrobe staples for the tiniest of tots are gorgeous. And the price point is very good as well.
Paul & Paula loves: The knitted bonnet* (great colours) as well as the ensemble* with the wrap cardigan. I love wrap cardigans on babies.
I am a big fan of Alexandrena’s work and so happy to get a peek into her stunning home.It is so bright and airy and yet looks so inviting and comfortable.
Alexandrena lives here together with her husband Michael and daughter Ruby. A house that used to be a post office and a house that at the time of purchasing had no kitchen or bathroom.
Luckily Michael is a carpenter and was able to undertake the renovations himself. Including adding a 30 sqm extension, building extra walls, and little Ruby’s bedroom. The couple managed to keep elements of the original property, such as the hallway, flooring and windows.
Let’s go on a tour and start with the children’s room, that has a little romantic touch:
Vintage furniture, cute wallpaper, beautiful bedding and net curtains to add some softness. A magical and playful universe!
Ruby even has a little ‘villa’ in the garden. I am sure it made the last months of lockdown in Australia a little easier.
So crisp and clean. A very Scandinavian inspired interior design but with its own charm and atmosphere. Beautiful!
I am still hoping to have a project like this one day. Maybe not a complete makeover with extensions and building bathrooms. But a place that we can just make our very own. Dream!
