Paul&Paula blog: Ine de HaesI found Ine de Haes through new webshop Rebel in the house and Ellis the owner was so kind to connect us. It is such a special brand that I had to know more.

And then I started to write the post and was super excited… but also so busy… I only show you today. Excuse-me!

Ine shared a little bit on how she started and got inspired, lets see:

It all started with her Graduation collection in 2013.
“I J M H (I Just Missed Your Heart) is a children’s collection, characterised by ethnic and imaginative influences.
I got inspired by the emotions of main character Hanna from the movie of the same name by Joe Wright. These emotions have been translated into three-dimensional facial expressions that are interwoven in each silhouette. The atmosphere and colours in the silhouettes are also influenced by the painting of artist Katinka Lampe.”

Followed by a Capsule collection in 2014:
“This collection with three dimensional faces popping out is based on my graduation collection. I’ve put a lot of research and effort in developing a technique for commercial sale, which I attempt to keep improving.”

The current collection is a collection of knitted accessories with a print of geometric faces, also based on I J M Y H. The scarves are 100% Merino wool and hand made in Belgium.

Actually all other pieces are also made in Belgium, Ine works with an atelier in Antwerp. She does apply the 3D effect herself.
