Future of kids design

Paul & Paula blog: afilli

You remember my post about afilii and their great exhibition sofr upcoming Kind+Jugend?

Kind+Jugend opens its doors today and if you can you should really go!

Especially if you are curious what the future will bring us! Afilii created a booth called „future of kids design“  with ten forward-looking prototypes on furniture and toys for kids.

These are developped by international designers. These 10 prototypes from 4 different countries were chosen by a jury from 51 submissions.

During the show the jury {furniture manufacturer Breuyn, PAIDI and Pinolino} will choose one winner who they will follow through the process of the product launch. The winner will also be able to exhibit at Kind+Jugend in 2015.

The “future of kids design” stand is to find: Halle 10.1, C-080

You see there is lots on the table and to get you a little teaser I am showing you a few of the finalist here and now:

Bed & House – Innoarea (Spain)

Once the baby is too big for the crib you can use the sides as a roof and make a play house out of it! Very clever and useful for many years…

cradle me – Inka Dropmann (Germany)

Another clever idea on how to use a crib. Split in half you have two kids rocking chairs!

Labludo – Tobias Lindenbeck (Germany)

Hang you table on the wall and only put it together when needed. Easy and a good idea for small spaces.

MAVALA – Anna Licata (Italy)

Table and stools are covered with magnetic paint so kids can draw on them and stick magnets. Pure design to fit into any family home.

Sleeping Book – IKSK Design (France)

A giant book with rainbow coloured pages and when open you will find a place to sleep.

These are only 5 from the 10 finalist but out of these – who would you vote for?
