Zuri House

Zuri House
Good Morning! Today would be a good day to ask me how I juggle work and family life. Two of my kids are at home, because of a study day (tomorrow another one will be home because of a study day) and I have plenty to do. It will be a short week because on Wednesday I am heading off to Pitti Bimbo. And then directly over to London for Dot to Dot.
The laundry is running too and we have two extra guests in the house – guinea pigs – that the kids are taking care of for a while. But as so often: The craziness is ‘crazy’ but also exactly what we asked for and what makes every day a special day. I am sure you know what I mean.

But lets change the topic because I stumbled upon Zuri House over the week end. Those giant crochet dolls caught my eye and there are many lovely goodies for the kids room in Ola’s shop full of handmade knitted and crocheted Nordic home accessories too.

Zuri House was born out out of the belief that the products that surround us have direct influence over our well-being and emotions. Taking pride in ourselves on our authentic, pure ecologically clean and beautiful craft. We value the work of human hands and original ideas. We like to play with colours and experiment with materials. All our ideas come together under the roof of Zuri House. Offering delightful products and a high quality of design and craft.

Kuum Wooden Toy Blocks

Kuum Wooden Toy Blocks
Kuum from the block! Totally in love with these super sleek, stylish and colourful wooden blocks.

KUUM is a collection of 202 building blocks crafted from beech tree wood that come in beautifully arranged units of 12 pieces. Each unit is infused with the stories of 12 elements and each unique piece embodies a small fragment of nature.

The 36 units express fundamental elements of rich Japanese nature like pebbles, twigs, and sea shells. And the 12 block units represent these themes: soil, fire, flower, tree, mountain, sea, ice, stone, earth, moon, sun and sand. With that they become a part of something larger and special. And even after being built, they will still remind us of the beautiful, original elements.

The lengths and angles of each piece have been carefully calculated and designed to maximize the number of combinations possible.

Welcome June with these finds!

paul paula blog
Hello June! We are blessed with sun. More and more and people are getting a little anxious. Does it mean that the rest of the summer (that did not even start, officially) will be crap? But hey, we are here to enjoy. As long as it lasts!

We even made a trip to the beach after school this week and there is more ice cream involved than I want should whatever share.

It is lovely and feels so good.

My list of bookmarked things was crying for help too. So here is just another Friday list to support the summer feeling!

Enjoy!

Picnic with an owl, a unicorn and some ducks

affenzahn
We have such amazing weather here the last weeks that we spent most of our free time in the park or at the beach. You really do have to enjoy every minute of this at like 500%. Because nobody knows how long it will last.

That is why we also transferred some of our meal times to the outside as well. Especially lunch. And really – who does not like a fun picnic?

And with their new backpacks, that we received from Affenzahn, Leonor and Josephine were even more keen to get packing and out of the house.

We welcomed a unicorn and an owl to our family and all I can tell you is: The welcome was very warm! These animal backpacks are like good friends that accompany you to any adventure. Moreover they are super cute, fun and also very functional! (may I mention here that Affenzahn is from Germany so the functional part is a given… yes, I need to play my German card from time to time).

Every backpack has a stick-out tongue with a name label (big hit here). And also reflective straps, soft shoulder pads and adjustable chest straps which makes them very comfortable to wear. There are lots of pockets including secret pockets that you will need to discover yourself and they are showerproof and dirt-repellent.

Everything blue for the little ones

Everything blue for the little ones

Blue Monday? Yes!
Because I love blue. Always and for everyone. Girls, boys, myself and for interiors. From navy to light blue… any shade.

That is why it was time to gather a few blue things for the little ones. And for mums too. Of course. We need a treat from time to time too.

And since blue is the colour of the sky and the sea… we can just never have enough:
