We all love a little glimpse into people’s houses don’t we?

Just because we are curious but also for inspiration. I share kids rooms I like and find interesting sometimes here on the blog but the idea to find some lovely ones myself was always there. Style them, photograph them – show them my way.

I asked my friend Niki {who is a full time blogger since the beginning of this year too…. yeah!} if we want to do this together. Find lovely family homes {the family part is very important here}, style and photograph them and afterwards share them on our blogs. The kids room {s}/ areas here on Paul & Paula and the rest over at Niki’s.

We started with a beautiful home in Barsebäck owned by photographer Nicklas Rudfell. The house was built in about 1865-1870 by a fisherman named August Johansson and Nicklas bought it in 2002. It was a total mess. Old and in bad shape. He did a very intense renovation and after 2 years the main house was ready! In 2009 he extended the house. The kids room you see here is in the new part.

“My kids Emil 12 year and Kalle 9 year lives with me, and my girlfriend Linda lives here part time, every second week about and we also live together in her apartment in Helsingborg.”

Here is a perfect boy’s room without being a typical boy’s room! Do you know what I mean?

It is fresh, crisp and with its pops of colours here and there and lots of cool things and souvenirs it is cosy as well.

Lets check some details:

Bed & desk: IKEA

Storage boxes: Lego

Knitted pillow on chair: Lucky Boy Sunday

Bean bags in hallway: Nobodinoz

Wooden house: Bloomingville

Light grey knitted blanket: Garbo & Friends

Cross blanket: Pia Wallen

Black & White poster: Mini & Maximus

These chairs were designed by Kay Körbing in 1956. Nicklas’ father saw them at a cafe around 1960 and he liked them so much –  he bought them.

They have been in a storage while I grew up and then I also started to like them so he gave them to me.”

This hallway is the heart of the new part of the house. Both kids rooms as well as the sleeping room and bathroom are connected here.
