After the move…

moving to sweden
It is 11pm, everyone {except me} is sleeping and I feel like I finally want to write my update on the move.

We are in Sweden. We moved into our new home, unpacked tons of boxes and start to settle in.

Was it all great? No!
Was it exciting? Yes!
Was it a lot of work? Yes! More than expected or maybe the thought of having a company doing the actual move including packing boxes sounded like it will be a piece of cake made things definetely easier but there was still lots left… {did you understand that sentence?}

Where to start… the last days in Amsterdam were hectic. We realized that we should actually move some things around to see if we need to touch up the walls etc., I had a long list of things for the blog and other projects plus school was over, daycare was over = 3 kids had to be entertained!

We arrived in Malmo on a Sunday afternoon, with sunshine and were happy that the big step was behind us. We arrived!
The next day we registered and met up with friends.

A couple of days later our boxes arrived, the unpacking began, Swedish mobile phone numbers and internet were arranged and a week after we arrived we had our first breakfast in our new home.

New home = heaven. Seriously the best apartment I have lived in in my life. I love, we all love it and it plays a big deal to enjoy this adventure and made us feel home so quickly! More from our new house, especially the kids rooms later…

The kids:
Romy – my eldest is doing great. She just took the ride. A good friend of her is here and that does help tremendously. We meet up lots. But still… no complaints… she is looking forward to school which starts today. Big kids class!

Antoine – the boy is a different story! He is 3 1/2 now and I think it is a lot to deal with for him. Tantrums are on order now and screaming. He breaks my heart actually because I can see that very often he is not sure himself what he wants but I can tell you that it is not easy to deal with.
Especially not when you have 3 kids all together.
On top he is in a “I want to do it myyyyyself” phase. So everything he wants and has to do… so things take ages and negotiating is tiring and usually ends in screaming :)
I am probably not the best parent right now and definitely not the most patient…
It is getting better, step by step and I love him so much… I just want to take him in my arms… but he wants to doooooo this by himself… all… and always the opposite.
So he will go to school too. Now that is great but it is again something new and it will be in English – new language for him. Lets see how it goes!

Leonor – the baby. No real opinion from her but she understood that screaming seems to be a good method to get mummies attention so she joined forces with Antoine on that one and I really would enjoy a soundproof room once in a while…

I am not complaining but it is not all perfect and I wanted to share it. It is probably really normal that the kids go a bit wild but you are busy with many other things so it is very difficult to focus and give them the attention they are asking for.
Something we need to find a solution for next time {?!?}…

All together… I am tired. Super tired. There was a moment where I wondered when I felt that tired the last time and it must have been after I gave birth to Romy {sth like 36h+ no sleep}.

The house is looking for the last details now, like hanging pictures, adding deco etc….
I am busy to register my business and finding my way on how these things work over here.
School started… I think slowly we will find our routine.
Afternoon activities for the kids are high on the list too…

What else:
*After nearly 6 years in Amsterdam… paradise in form of supermarkets is back. Love the choice here!
*Sweden is treating us well. 3 weeks and only one really crappy day – the rest was summer and sun.
*We got tickets for Depeche Mode who will play in Malmo this December!!! {priorities} Just need to find a babysitter now… high on the list as well then.
*There is a Marimekko store and it already found my credit card.
*I am having way too much chocolate and ice cream…pffff…
*This city has a lot of playgrounds.

More news very soon… and if you have some great tips to share please do so… would love to hear….
