Where Edgy Streetwear Meets Sustainable Fashion for Kids

In a world of fast fashion, Hooligan Vogue stands out by blending edgy streetwear with sustainability — a hidden gem in the industry. Their promise of cool, naturally aged kids’ clothing with an eco-conscious focus caught my attention.

When Andrea, HV’s founder, offered to create personalized pieces for my two youngest, I didn’t hesitate. They love denim, crave unique styles, and appreciate the importance of recycling in fashion.

Hooligan Vogue meticulously selects top-notch name brand and vintage denim for their kids’ streetwear. Upon receiving the pieces, I noticed the durable, authentic denim and precise stitching, showcasing the brand’s commitment to creating not just clothing, but genuine works of art.

Match made in Heaven

The pieces arrived before our Christmas break, and I captured them in a lovely setting :) You can truly see the brand’s passion for denim, design, and fashion in their range, featuring denim jackets, jeans, and shorts for kids. The pieces are undeniably cool and edgy, embodying the essence of streetwear—age-appropriate yet fashion-forward. What are your thoughts?

So how does it work? Andrea offers a ‘ready to wear’ selection on her website. Plus the possibility to get pieces customised. If you choose this option you can enter some info about your child right away and Andrea will also reach out for more details to create the perfect piece(s). Do they like animals? Any favourite colours? How about books or songs or a big memory? Anything can be incorporated, making each piece a unique and meaningful creation.

Sustainable Fashion Choices

One of the standout features of Hooligan Vogue is their dedication to making a positive impact on the environment. By using recycled materials and non-toxic, organic dyes, the brand ensures that each garment is not only stylish. But also contributes to a more sustainable future. Hooligan Vogue isn’t just a clothing brand; it’s a statement—a statement that kids’ fashion can be cool, edgy, and responsible all at once.

When summer takes a break…

bobo choses up is down

… we are looking into jumpers and sneakers!

I was in a video call yesterday speaking to a lovely team in Italy wearing a knitted cardigan. Kind of normal to have layers at hand, even in summer, in the UK and other ‘Nordic’ countries. My call was in so surprised and started to sweat even more, since they are dealing with extreme heat over the last weeks. One may think we are in different hemispheres and not a 2h flight apart…

This morning I was browsing the net a bit and stopped at my friend Daniela’s shop, Loja Dada, and really love the current colour palette she has in store. I actually got so inspired that I quickly put together a little edit of some favourites.

I hope that you find something you like as well!

1. Absolutely love this colour block polar jacket. So versatile!

2. BOBO CHOSES X MINI KYOMO watch

3. Retro look in a supersoft chunky knit!

4. Stripes, happy ones.

5. Good and stylish sneakers all year round.

6. Cute with a relaxed fit for every day wear.

7. More stripes, and I love the colour combo. Super versatile, wear it alone or as a layer. Love!

8. The name is the game – easy peasy dress! (and more stripes)

9. Cute print, big pockets.

10. For everything essential to bring along! In bubblegum pink.

Have a fun weekend!
xoxo

My favourites from Pitti Bimbo 97

Pitti Bimbo 97

It was an honour and big fun to be part of the 97th edition of Pitti Bimbo. Yes, only three more until the B I G 100. So exciting!

Trade shows are not an easy playing field these days (still not) however nobody can beat Pitti to their program, hospitality and flair. And they win in terms of discovery factor too.
That is why I would like to share 7 brands that stood out to me and may not be on your radar at the moment. However, I think they should be and deserve to be.

Let’s have a look at these stars from around the globe, found at Pitti Bimbo:

Appulu

Appulu

Each Appulu garment is created with kids in mind, with breath-ability and airiness for comfort. ‘Being from India we stay true to our indigenous roots and take pride in our skilled artisans and create for global consumers.’
Slow processes, small batch production, limited quantities and pre-orders to avoid any waste and excess production. Appulu decided to go as far as batch dying their own yarn in eco-friendly naturally derived colors, all hand processed from organic waste to cured yarn. My eyes were instantly drawn to their attention of detail in each piece and you can see the craftsmanship that has been put into each garment, it is simply beautiful.

flying ace kids

Flying Ace

Flying Ace was founded by four best friends, whose dream was to enhance children’s everyday lives with fun and adventure. By stepping away from the traditional costume industry, they wanted to create something special. Adorable capes, fun socks and the best summer hats, everything is made from using GOTS certified fabrics and dyes and manufacturing them in small facilities in their home country, Georgia, as well as in Spain and Portugal. Every piece is designed collaboratively with emerging Georgian artists with the primary goal of celebrating the wonder of childhood and complementing children’s limitless imaginations.

C'era una Volta

C’era una Volta

An Italian label dedicated to dress children beautifully, just as they are. In this collection the brand dedicated a capsule to FLOCUS. A new intelligent fabric that is both more ecological, softer and warmer than regular cotton. A fascinating fabric, that is just getting more recognition, and I love that a children’s brand picked up on it. The collection is beautiful and called ‘Postcards from my memories’, with a palette taking from Italy and Japan. Toned by a vintage flair; a delicate terracotta, a rich ochre, the cleanest sky, a dandelion white.

Boatilus

Boatilus

Family eco-friendly footwear for people who care about the product’s ecological impact and about the future of the planet.
The Franco-Italian founders are both parents, and 7th generation shoe manufacturers, who have been making footwear since 1810. Today, the brand creates and manufactures in Europe for their sandals and boots to be BIO-based & 100% RECYCLABLE !

oseree kids

Oséree

This stylish brand, already quite popular for women, makes each piece expertly handmade in Italy, just launched a collection for the youngsters.  The brand’s signature metallic thread glitters in the sunlight and while it is very on-trend, it is also stretchy and comfortable with no itch! Glam!

wooxy kids

Wooxy

Wooxy is a new brand for kids based and produced in Tbilisi, Georgia. (Georgia seems to be a place to watch.) ‘Our outfits brings to peace different styles that gives children a sense of freedom and creates a festive mood as well. The materials we use are made of 100% of organic cotton.’
I love their timeless silhouettes, colours, and soft fabrics. Easy pieces that always look fantastic!

flower mountain naturino

Flower Mountain for Naturino

What is not to like? Colourful, design-led, fun, chunky, cool, and comfortable. This vegan shoe line has been created together with Japanese designers who combine innovation with the nipponic design tradition.

Of course, I will need to mention the two activities I organised for this edition. In order to create a fun and light connection between press/influencers and the brands. The Pitti Olympics and Summer Look in 1 minute, a fun styling game.
By diving into the pieces in the S/S 24 collections of the brands on display, participants playfully connected with the brands at the fair. Let me know if you are planning to attend the fair in January and I will make sure to have you on board.

Poetic, retro & eccentric children’s fashion from London

Raspberry Plum
London based children’s fashion label RaspberryPlum showed an exceptional collection this June in Pitti. I teased you a bit in my recap and, as promised, will show you more today. And I hope you will be as delighted as I am!

Aleksandra and her love for the 1930’s to 1950’s can be seen throughout the collection. Showing pieces packed with personality and the best prints. I am particularly loving the panda prints. It is all rather unique, playful, yet luxurious, and colourful.

Happy stripes, a bit of lace, lots of tulle, and the coolest accessories. I am very fond of great accessories and was happy to see some cool berets, summer hats, and hair pieces. They just make an outfit and add a whole lot of fun.

And in case you wonder when I say tulle, lace and luxury, everything is easy to look after. Because a great deal of attention has been placed on detail, quality, and finish. Further, the collection is ethically manufactured in Serbia, Aleksandra’s birth country. She left for London when she was 12 but always likes to include her roots in her work. To support and to show her love.

Let us have a look at the collection for Spring/ Summer 2023:
