Little Hands

children illustration

Leonor Feijó and Marta Belo are the creative minds behind Little Hands, an illustration company that specializes in wallpapers for children.

There is nothing worse than Mickey Mouse or Winnie the Pooh smiling from a kids room wall. (apart from not meeting my taste I think they are just too much, too loud...) A child's room should be whimsical and these illustrations are excellent and provide such an inspirational dreamworld for kids to escape to.

The wallpapers can be ordered in various sizes and will fit perfectly on your wall, you just have to give the measurements you need! It even can be personalised by choosing a favourite character or theme and then Feijó and Belo will do the composition.

Check out their blog to see a few kids rooms with the wallpaper...

And you should definitely check out the rest of their page as well, you will find beautiful illustrations of girls, faces and animals.

Easy DIY - dotty kids tee

Printing with potatoes was on my list for a very long time, but is it really so easy and what about the result? Can I show it? Did you ever try it?

After some thinking I decided on the easiest thing to do: dots...
I mean, cut a potatoe in half, ink and stamp away....

The tee was in a condition that a bad result would have been ok and because we just started Autumn I thought some happy colours might be good. We will have enough grey in this coming season!

The inks are fabric inks from versacraft and read here for some really helpful tips on fabric stamping!

What do you think? KleinR loves her new tee...

Once around the sun {give away incl.}

These pictures make me so happy, all the great colours, happy kids, sunshine and beautiful designs from Steffi.

Once around the sun creates the most magical crowns, flower cuffs and sweet necklaces for little girls. Birthdays, celebrations or "just because"... lovely things like this do not need a special reason, they just need a cool kid wearing them!

Everything is 100% hand made by Steffi who became creative after she could not find the perfect crown for her daughters 1st birthday.

And OH HAPPY DAY... Once around the sun would like to offer one Bloom Bell Necklace to one of my readers. YAY!

All you have to do is to like Once around the sun on FB and go over to my FB page and like THIS post.
Random.org will pick a winner when the give away closes on Thursday 06.10.2011.
Good luck everyone!

It is grown without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals and coloured naturally without using chemical dyes or bleaching agents from yarn to finished materials.

Meaning, these pyjamas really tick all the boxes.You can get them directly from the website.

I am nununu, because I fell in love... in love with a very hip new brand from Isreal called nununu.

NUNUNU blends high quality fabric, urban design and basic colours and when I saw the line I thought: this is my boy, like totally... I could literally see him in these pieces!
The collection is for babies and kids aged 0-8Y and all clothes are designed and manufactured by Iris and Tali, the people behind this label.

Find a retailers list on their site or e mail them for order!

Fashion week {for kids}

As much as I enjoy online shopping I love to get as much information as possible.
How is the fitting? Is it a real bright red? How soft is the wool? And so on...

Specially when you put your hands on a new brand you just don't know and that is where I really value "personal" online boutiques. You get that little extra information, you will find pictures of the outfit on a kid and some inspiration on how to wear it for free... :)

Alex and Alexa had a very cool idea and launched the first ever virtual kids fashion week last week.

Winter ‘11 looks from the world’s most prestigious little labels like Junior Gaultier, Dior, Stella McCartney, TommyHilfiger and Rykiel Enfant. Luxury labels are made to be worn and seeing the pieces on the kids, on the move and as an outfit is just so much better than just a picture!

See all the videos here and my special love goes to Rykiel Enfant! Stripe-Tastic!

Line + Liv ...happy days...

If one day (and please read the IF in capital letters) I have a shop (which is one of my dreams) and people will ask me why I have my own shop I already TODAY know what I will answer:

Because of Line+Liv!

Because it looks like this in her magic shop and if I could I would move in there...

And because the shop has walls too it needs some clean up for new items... you can help and get awesome deals t this moment...

Come over for the 20Euro days here and here and see the 30Euro day here.
Happy shopping!!!

Alexandrena Parker {photographer}

4th july

Alexandrena Parker is one of Australia’s fastest emerging new talents within the children’s photography industry.

"I graduated in 2010 from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and have been sponsored by Olympus Australia for two years. I grew up in country Victoria and now live in Melbourne, Australia. I am inspired by films, photography, music, culture, Europe, my sister, real life and of course children. In fact, real people and everyday life are most inspiring because it is honest, unique and genuine."

Pure talent and passion this woman!

I like that the kids look like real kids here, dressed up maybe but playful and not like mini adults with more make up than I would ever wear in a full year.

... can't wait to see new projects of her...
