The people behind the online stores {part two}

Your name and age: Michelle and I am 40

Where do you live: in London, uk

Shop: quirky collective (kids fashion)

What did you do before you started the shop: I worked for multi-disciplinary design studios.  small practices where i could have my hands in various pots.  and then came the girls... and then the store.  i still like to keep my hands in many pots though, to keep my brain stimulated and the inspiration juices going!

And how did you get the idea to open an online shop: it was really spurred on by numerous comments received over the way i dress my daughters. so i thought i would give it a shot without thinking that people would be that much into it.

How do you choose the products and/or collections you sell: it is a very subjective selection process, which is hugely inspired by my kids and based on my personal taste.  but ultimately, it is all about the product and how it fits into quirky collective's ethos.

What is the most fun part of this adventure:
realising that there is a strong and recurrent common factor between all the brands that are on board and the store's own values.  those are ventures mostly driven by women, parents...etc  out to make a living (and make a little difference in a very saturated market) but never at the expense of their integrity or that of their products.

What do you think will be the next trend:
as for what will be the next colour, length skirt...  i do not know.  trends can be a little fickle and can seem so disposable at times.  but i think that when there is a good balance of function and form, the likelihood of falling out of love with a brand or product is lessened.

{Thank you Michelle!}
